Takin' it Easy

 Rick has played drums since age 12. His influence: seeing ( not hearing) THE BEATLES in August, 1966 as a 9 year old tag along with Big Sister. Former Crosley Field, Cinti., OH.   

Inspired also my the great music of Tom Petty, Rick took up gigging in 2018. Urge to play classic rock & classic country focused on 60’s-early 80’s birthed bands.  

Rick has played in 130 gigs in Carolinas the past 7 years. Rock, country, originals bands based in Charlotte, N.C. Rick played at Charlotte Fillmore, Uptown Westin for 600+ Viet Nam vets, Heist & many notable venues & private parties in both Carolinas.   

Myrtle Beach became primary residence July 1, 2026. Marianne & Rob Styles, instantly high level music & friendship.   Rick is inspired to lift people up with tasteful, easy to listen, classic music. What a thrill to join up as duo & expansion with,” Takin it Easy.” 

Marianne has been performing professionally for over 20 years. Her music includes a dynamic mix of classic and current Rock, Folk/Irish, Pop and Country tunes, along with her originals.

Marianne likes to say that her greatest inspiration was her mother, Mary, who cleverly offered her a choice each night to practice music or help wash the dishes. Of course music won out, resulting in many extra hours of instrumental and vocal practice. Marianne's favorite instruments include guitar and other stringed instuments, piano and drums. Other important inspirations have included Mary Travers, Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, Jewel and Miranda Lambert. 

Styles began composing music and played her first solo public performance at the age of 16 at the Rose Tree Park Summer Concert Series in Pennsylvania and has been hooked on live performance ever since.
